Out of It, Pretty Much!

I apologize for the lack of updates recently. I've been sooooo busy. A trip to southern California to hang with my Mom for a week, back home this week where I've been trying to get caught up on both personal and biz stuff. If you are on subscribe to the Webajeb newsletter you know this already. And tomorrow my hubby and I leave for a week in Florida to visit his folks. Plus, getting ready for a fundraiser on the 21st (I'm a vendor) - whew!

I'm "give out," as my friend, Nona, from Arkansas used to say. Thankfully, I'm pretty much done packing (just a few last-minute things to throw in the suitcase), and then I can relax for the evening and, hopefully, go to bed early. We have a 7:30 a.m. flight to catch at an airport about 45 mins. away so you can do that math, I don't want to think about it!

I WILL be updating this blog with some fun new stuff when I return, and after the fundraiser. So, y'all come back now!

Digital Scrapbooking for You - But first you have to be able to find me!

I've been doing some research on optimizing my website, www.webajeb.com. How was I to know there's so much to learn?? I have had to learn terms like "keywords," "XML site map," "title tags," and "H1 headers," not to mention that I'm going to have to start tweaking the HTML code of my site. Yeah, the HTML code. We won't even go into that!

But, at the end of it all, I should have a website that is more frequently returned in the results list when people are searching for a service such as mine. That's been a big mystery. How to get noticed on the internet.

It's important because, so far, 90% of my clients have found me on the internet. So I have been studying up on what search terms people are using, how often, and how much competition there is for each term. Whew!

Not an exact science, by any means and, like the internet itself, it changes frequently. Someday I hope to have someone else do this stuff for me, like when my business has grown to the point where I have enough work to keep me busy 40 hrs/week. Until then, the extra hours I have available will be spent tweaking the html code of my website pages and believe me, I'd much rather be designing scrapbook layouts! Nothing's drier and more tedious than the html code behind a web page! If you are curious about what it looks like, go to my website, www.webajeb.com, do a right-click on the home page and then choose "View Source."

You'll be sorry you did. Welcome to my world!

Ladybugs for Digital Scrapbooking Layouts

I've been working on some of my own original designs to use on digital scrapbook layouts for my customers. I have one customer with two little girls and I recently wished for ladybugs for a summer layout. I was inspired by a "thank you" note my mom sent to me awhile back that had ladybugs on it. This ladybug embellishment and paper are the result. I can't wait to use them in a layout!

*You can buy these items as a mini-kit for just $1.49 at my online store here! *

I'm just back from a week-long trip to Washington state where my husband and I spent time with his dad and step-mom, and also his brother and family. We had a great time even though it was a few days before our thin California blood adjusted to the cloudy and rainy Washington weather! I hope to be posting a few photos on my personal blog in the next couple of days. Hope you'll pop over and check it out! (www.debztalkin.blogspot.com)
