Digital Word Art Freebie and Template 24

Whoohooo, another digital template ready for you! Number 24. Yeah, templates are just about my fave thing to create because once they're done, I use them over and over for all types of layouts. They're the perfect tool to jumpstart creativity any day!

This is a 2-page template; each page is in a separate .PSD file. Create 2-page spreads, or use just one of the pages for a single page layout. Swap the two pages around, if you like, flip 'em upside-down, it's all up to you. Make 'em your own!

As usual, I've included a layer with numbers corresponding to each of the photo shape layers in the file. This makes it easy to find the layer you want to clip your photo or paper to. It's so easy! Simply click to highlight the shape layer where you plan to place your photo. Then drag your photo in. It will drop right on top of the correct layer. Awesome!

Here's a layout I made with this template:
Clean & classy, perfect for a wedding layout, but by using different background paper and adding elements you could easily make a layout for pretty much ANY occasion. And bonus! You can include LOTS of photos! Put a single photo on each layer, or cover two or more template shapes with one photo, the way I have. It's easy: decide which shape layers your photo will cover, merge those layers, then clip the photo to the merged layer. Done!

A Digital Scrapbooking Template for You

So I'm on kind of a template kick these days! Here's another one based on a layout I did a couple years ago. I actually got the idea for this one out of a magazine while waiting to donate blood. I remember quickly sketching it out in a small notebook I keep in my purse. This is one of my favorites of the graphic style layouts I've done.

Junk Mail Inspiration

Artistic inspiration can come from pretty much anywhere. I get a lot of mine from magazines, billboards, product labels and boxes, kid's artwork, and many other places. A couple days ago I got a piece of junk mail from a mail-order pharmacy and the design of the front and back pages really caught my eye:

Simple, clean, graphic. Just the kind of stuff I love. Sheesh, I even like the color scheme. Anyway, I knew immediately that these would be great digital scrapbooking templates so I sat right down and created some. Here they are:

I like them! I like each one on its own, and I also like them as a 2-page spread. Just think how these could be gussied up into fancy layouts, or kept as simple and classy as they are.

As you can see I didn't add any styles or drop-shadows to the text or the circles, so add your own if you want. The circles could be used for photos or journaling, a mixture of both, or whatever. I just love how versatile these templates are.

I made the templates in the square format that I most often scrap in, but am wondering . . . How many people would like to see templates in 8.5 x 11, or some other size? Just let me know if you do, and I'll add some different sizes. I'll even convert existing templates to other sizes, if you like, whaddya think o' them beans?

New (FREEBIE) Digital Scrapbooking Template - One Heart

Yesterday was such a productive day! Boy, once I got the majority of my website updates finished and could get back to creating and designing, the ideas I've had in the back of my head have just been pouring out! (Having all that techie stuff hanging over my head has not been good - I'm totally longing for the day I can pay someone to do that for me!)

Anyway, I'd like everyone to benefit from my good day so I'm offering one of the templates I made for FREE! Here it is:

It's a layered .PST file, so just open it in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, and do a Save As with a new name. Then drag your photos, paper, etc. into your new file. Some of the layers in the .PSD file have a plus sign in front of the name; this is to designate layers to which you can clip your paper or photos. This is a quick and easy way to use templates! Or, use whatever method you prefer.

The journaling lines are on layers of their own so you don't have to use those spaces for journaling if you'd rather put a photo or embellishment there instead. The title and the background paper with the text on it are also on their own layers. Use them or add your own. Templates are SO versatile; that's probably why I like them so much.

I'd love to see what you do with this template so send me a web-size version of your layout, or a link to where it's posted on-line. Everyone that does that can choose another of my templates FREE, just let me know which one you'd like.

New Digital Template Plus FREE Pre-made Pages

These are so much fun to use, and easy, too. As mentioned when I posted my first layout template (here), Webajeb templates are layered .PSD files with a "Plus." In Jessica Sprague-style they feature a plus sign on each layer that is clippable, making it super-easy to identify which layers are made especially for clipping digital papers.

I use Photoshop but I know tons of digital scrapbookers use Elements or other programs, some of which may not support the clipping technique. Please know that these layered files are still appropriate for you!

You don't have to use clipping on these layers. You can use any method you like to recolor, select and cut, or apply styles and textures to the layers. These .PSD files work like any other, with each element on its own layer, making it easy for you to add your own papers, elements, titles, and journaling.

Here is the template with photos, digital papers, color added to the fibers, and some text:

UPDATE: 03/10/09: I have had to remove the links to these pre-made pages. After letting Pamela of DigiTreats know that I had featured some of her papers here on my blog, she wrote back to say that I could not use them to give away as freebies due to the fact that she uses other designer's products to create her own, and that those other designer's Terms of Use preclude their use in any commercial way, including as freebies. **SIGH** Sorry about that, friends! However, I will (as soon as I have time between all the traveling I'm doing this month) re-create these pre-made pages using my OWN papers and then re-post them, as freebies, of course!

Tumble Templates are delivered as flattened .JPG files. Simply open a new document in your scrapbooking software program and drag in the template. *On the template layer, use your magic wand to select the gray photo areas and delete it. You now have a hole in the template. Add a new layer under the template, "tumble" your photos onto that new layer, and re-size as needed.

(* Of course, this is just one way of adding photos; use any favorite technique.)

Save with a new name, and Done!
